Chapter NEWS     Fore and Aft Fall

       The Southern New England Chapter welcomes you to our Antique and Classic Boating Society Web page. Our chapter is dedicated to preserving and using antique and classic boats.  We provide an avenue of information, antique boating resources, and a venue to show and use our boats.

Each year we try to have at least one workshop or tour. Last year we toured a boat yard where a member's collection of antique boats was housed. We had a demonstration of "Gold Leaf" application to one boat's transom, toured an Antique Commuter before restoration was started, saw how all the boats in this collection were maintained during the winter months and had a lunch in the boat yard.

We participate in  and The Antique Boat Rendezvous in  Mystic Connecticut, where the SNE Chapter members show their antique boats.

                       Each July we have our own antique and classic boat show in Essex Connecticut, "Mahogany Memories". Held at the Connecticut River Museum on the Connecticut River. It is one of the finest shows in the Northeast. We had over 40 entries last year and next year the show promises to be even better.

We have a "Fall Frolic" each year, which gives us a chance to use our boats one more time before we put them away for the winter. Last year's event was held at the Motor Boat Club in Meriden Ct.

There is a fall Dinner and Annual Meeting in late November, which is our last formal event of the year. We invite you to join us at any of our events to share in our love of Antique and Classic Boating.
